The Trio Chagall has recently established itself as the winner of the First Prize at the Schoenfeld International String Competition (2023) in Harbin, China.

Furthermore, the Trio was recently nominated as an ECHO RISING STAR for the 2025/2026 season, a recognition that will allow them to embark on a concert tour in venues participating in the ECHO program, including prestigious venues such as Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Philharmonie de Paris, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, and Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

In June 2023, after passing two selections and succeeding in the finals at Wigmore Hall in London, the Trio was also nominated as a YCAT artist. In all these cases, it was the first time an Italian ensemble had achieved such recognitions.

In Italy, the Trio Chagall has garnered attention as the winner of the Second Prize – as the First Prize was not awarded – at the 20th edition of the Premio Trio di Trieste (2019), where they were also awarded three special prizes. With an average age of 20 years old, the Trio was the youngest chamber group ever awarded in the history of the competition.

These are just the latest successes in a series of achievements for the Chagall Trio. Previous accomplishments include winning the chamber music category at Amadeus Factory (2018), being awarded the “Giovanna Maniezzo” Prize by the Jury of the Chigiana Music Academy, being named “Ensemble of the Year 2020/2021” by Le Dimore del Quartetto, and being appointed as the ensemble in residence by the Comitato Amur for the year 2023/2024.

Described as “a very young trio, but already very mature in the search of refined interpretative solutions” (ARCHI magazine), Trio Chagall was founded in 2013 by the friendship and love for chamber music of the then teenagers Edoardo Grieco (violin), Francesco Massimino (cello), and Lorenzo Nguyen (piano). The name of the Trio is intended as a tribute to the famous painter Marc Chagall, who has always been a deep source of inspiration for them.
